University of California, Berkeley's Master of Development Practice Alumni Profile: Narissa AllibhaiNarissa Allibhai is a Kenyan human rights advocate and graduate of UC Berkeley’s Master of Development Practice, a professional degree in sustainable development. She has a B.A. & Sc. in Mathematics, English Literature and Economics from McGill University.

Narissa spent the last few months conducting interviews and analyses for the Global Fund for Women on women’s leadership in Kenya.

Her prior research for International Rivers on the climate maladaptation risks of the Gibe III dam in Ethiopia was published in a press release earlier this year. Last summer, she consulted for a local NGO in Ethiopia on impact evaluation methodology.

Before that, she helped develop the business plan for the East African Institute, a policy think-tank under the Aga Khan Development Network.

Most recently, Narissa co-founded a social business that facilitates access to international markets for Kenyan slum artisans. Currently, she is leading a pilot in Kenya for Micro-Vest International, a venture capital startup that funds low-income student entrepreneurs.
