08 Oct 2015: Tanzania President Jakaya Kikwete in his three-day stay in Kenya visited Universal Corporations Limited (UCL) on Monday.
UCL is a leading pharmaceutical industry in the country that has sort to expand its market potential to other East African countries.
Addressing a press conference within the precincts of the industry on Monday, UCL Managing Director Perviz Dhanani said that there is a huge pharmaceutical market potential in East Africa which can be tapped to address unemployment.
“Demographics depict that the ratio of population to number of manufacturers in EAC stands at 1:3,000,000 meaning EAC has a population of 150 million people with only 50 manufacturers. There is huge market potential within this region which will create the much needed jobs that each of the EAC countries is talking about,” said Dhanani.
