This year, Madrasa Early Childhood Programme (MECP) participated in marking this significant Educational cross-cutting issue day together with other agencies within the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN).

The celebrations took place in collaboration with the County Government of Kilifi at Bofa Beach in Kilifi; the theme being: The Power of the Adolescent Girl: Vision for 2030.

The event was spearheaded and attended by representatives from Aga Khan University-Institute for Educational Development, East Africa (AKU-IED), Aga Khan Academy, Kesho Organisation among others.

It was encouraging to have County Government Education Minister Hon. Salma Muhiddin Ahmed grace the occasion among other key Government Education Officials.

With support from Aga Khan Foundation Canada through the Strengthening Education Systems in East Africa (SESEA), the Madrasa Programme currently implements interventions focusing on professional development for educators with a long term vision of ensuring that we have a society where all children are Educated, Healthy and Happy.
