Minister Kenney Issues Statement Congratulating Malik Talib on his Re-appointment as President of the Aga Khan Council of Canada

July 12, 2015 – The Honourable Jason Kenney issued the following statement congratulating Malik Talib on his reappointment as President of the Ismaili Council of Canada:

“I wish to congratulate my friend Malik Talib on his re-appointment as President of the Ismaili Council of Canada, which is a sign of His Highness the Aga Khan’s confidence in his leadership and dedication to Canada’s Ismaili community.

“Malik Talib has served as president of the Ismaili Council of Canada since July 2012. Previously, he served on the national council in various key roles for well over twenty years, including as Vice President.

“Last month, our government was pleased to announce that Mr. Talib will serve as the Vice-Chair of the newly established Office of Religious Freedom External Advisory Committee.

“On behalf of the Government of Canada, I wish Mr. Talib continued success representing Canada’s strong and vibrant Ismaili community.”
