Madrasa Early Childhood Programme: Mentorship Skills For Early Childhood Teachers Programme

Coastweek– As part of ongoing professional development of teachers, Madrasa Early Childhood Programme – Kenya identifies high uptake teachers from the trainings to serve as peer mentors.

The objective is to enhance human resource base for ECD as well as provide platforms for new teachers to learn from their experienced peers.

The training was made possible through collaboration with The Aga Khan Foundation Canada and the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD) through the Strengthening Education Systems in East Africa (SESEA).

Madrasa Early Childhood Programme offers teacher training classes for certificate, diploma and specialised courses.

 Coastweek-- A group of 20 ECD Teachers selected from Kilifi, Kwale and Mombasa Counties attending a four-day training to empower them to effectively mentor their peers. This is the second group of peer mentors trained after 20 others were trained in 2014.
