Truly awesome.
Indescribable.
Those are some of the words newcomers used to express what it felt like to be sworn in as new Canadians Wednesday.
Sixty immigrants from 24 countries took the citizenship oath in a special Canada Day ceremony outside the Alberta legislature.

Wed Jul 01 2015. By Kevin Maimann for Edmonton Sun: The ceremony kicked off with a pancake breakfast organized by the Aga Khan Council for Edmonton and the Edmonton Celebrates Canada Day organization that drew about 10,000 people, including Mayor Don Iveson and Premier Rachel Notley.
Co-organizer Arif Karmali with the Aga Khan Council said the 26th annual event is a way to give back to the city and country.
“We are immensely grateful to be Canadian,” Karmali said.
“It’s very important for us to do this with Canada.”
The Aga Khan Council also presented a cheque to Edmonton’s Food Bank for $9,000.
