Grid Station to meet Aga Khan University’s future needs

Grid Station to meet Aga Khan University’s future needsApril 8, 2015: The Aga Khan University and K-Electric have jointly inaugurated a 132 KV grid station on the Stadium Road campus, worth a total investment of PKR 1 billion.

The new grid station located near the helipad will help the University meet its electricity requirements as it increases the number of facilities available on campus. The current electrical power demand for the University and Hospital is 6 MW, and expected to gradually rise to 16 MW.

The grid station will improve reliability and continue to supply uninterrupted power to the University and Hospital, with further benefits extending to consumers as well. “This grid will relieve the overloaded grids of Civic Centre, Baloch Colony and Gulshan-e-Iqbal and will also partially meet the requirement of future load growth in PECHS, Bahadurabad, KDA Scheme 1 and its adjoining areas,” said a K-Electric spokesperson.
