The United States National Committee (USNC) supports the global work of UN Women. UN Women is the United Nations entity responsible for promoting women’s empowerment and gender equality.
Board Member: Alysha Lalji
Alysha Lalji is a digital marketing and social media expert based in New York, NY. She currently works in healthcare, building unique campaigns and crafting educational and entertaining content pertaining to the Affordable Care Act. Prior to this, she worked at several award-winning digital marketing agencies, and has PR and event management experience. She has been a member of the Metro New York Chapter of the US National Committee for U.N. Women since 2012 and was very much involved in planning the annual fundraiser and conference, including the development of the social media strategy, securing a panel moderator and donations, driving attendance, and running the event on-site. Alysha is passionate about supporting artisanship and local economies, and is in the development stages of a new project to help consumers connect with artisans. She also does pro bono consultations with local businesses that support women’s empowerment. Alysha received her B.A. in Gender and Sexuality Studies and Art History at New York University.
