A total of 7 teams participated in the 2nd South Asian Roll Ball Championship that included Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Maldives.
Sarim Charania represented Pakistan with number 10 jersey in the team.
Pakistan drew up in the Pool A of the tournament alongside Bangladesh and Bhutan. They played their first match against Bhutan beating them by 9-1 (in which Sarim scored 2 goals).
The next match was against Bangladesh which Pakistan won, this time by a margin of 1-0 (Sarim scored the only goal) . This led Pakistani team to be a part of the semi-finals in which they had a match up against Nepal which Pakistan won 4-3 (Sarim scored 1 goal).
After winning the semi-finals, the Pakistan team marched on to the finals to face the world champions India. After a tough and competing match, Indian team won 5-2 (Sarim scored 1 goal).
In the end, Pakistani team, led by Sarim Charania’s first class sportsmanship, won the runners-up trophy. Sarim became the joint top scorer for Pakistan (5 goals) He was the only Pakistani player to score in every match.
