On July 2nd, Ishrath Velshi declared her candidacy to run for the position of Councillor in Ward 26 in the City of Toronto which encompasses Bennington Heights, Leaside, Thorncliffe Park, Flemingdon Park and Wynford-Concorde.
Being such a diverse and multicultural area, Ishrath’s dedication to community service, coupled with her work over the past few years at city Hall as the Executive Assistant to two Councillors, where she was the main contact between constituents, community and ratepayer groups, businesses, not for profit organizations and city staff in various positions, in all departments makes her uniquely qualified to serve.
