Manaaim Somani’s learning journey towards holistic development

Manaaim Somani continues his learning journey towards holistic development and well-rounded education in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. He performed exceptionally well during 2013-14 academic year and successfully completed 5 years old program at QSI International School of Bishkek. He has been ranked at 90 and 95 percentile in Mathematics and Reading in the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) testing of Northwest Evaluation Association. His overall achievements during the academic year 2013-14 are summarized below:

  1. Successful completion of the 5 year old program (he received 57 As out of total 60 units)
  2. Certificate of Excellence in Annual Science Fair 2014 – his science project was related to the relationship of building strength and the size of building blocks
  3. Outstanding performance in The President’s Physical Fitness Challenge
  4. Certificate of Appreciation for Trustworthiness
  5. Certificate of Appreciation for Responsibility
  6. Certificate of Appreciation for Group Interaction

To date, Manaaim’s three poems and one brief narrative have been published in “KidsWWwrite”, which is an online anthology for young writers and readers established in 2001 by the Department of English at Okanagan College, Canada (ISSN 1703-3020). His six art works have also been published in the “Young World”, which is children’s weekly magazine in Daily Dawn and his 90 art pieces have been published in “artSonia” Museum – the largest online artwork collection for children.

“I was so lucky to watch Manaaim grow this year. He has become a confident and outgoing student. He is willing and able to contribute to group discussions on any topic. He also volunteers ideas and information and works very well in groups. He is able to share task and to get others involved. He is well liked by all of his classmates” commented his Homeroom Teacher, Mrs. Heather Chapman.

Manaaim migrated to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan at the age of 2 years with his family in 2010 and joined the QSI International School of Bishkek in August 2011 in 3 years old program after completing one year of early years learning at Erudite, Bishkek.
