Partnership Walk raises $1.7M to end global povertyIn perfect weather condition, the event marked 30th anniversary of the Partnership Walk.

The main 5K event started with a ribbon cutting ceremony at Metro Hall in Toronto, which attracted thousands of community members across the GTA region.

According to Fiaz Basaria, convenor of the Partnership Walk, a record 10,000 walkers attended the event and helped raise more than $1.7 million.

He said donations are still coming and the numbers are likely to reach the $2 million mark.

The event also offered team games, global village education program as well as activities for seniors and children.
