Fahmida Velji-Visram never hesitated to lend a hand to family, friends, even strangers.
She supported her husband — then boyfriend — when his father passed away several years ago. She cleared her weekend to help her cousin clean her new house and unpack. She planned dinner dates with friends she met at mosque.
“If you called her up and said you needed help, she’d basically drop everything she was doing to help someone. She had no qualms about helping people,” said her husband, Rahim Visram.
“It brings me solace knowing that she was helping someone when her life was taken.”
The 29-year-old Calgary woman’s final act of service came Sunday evening.
