Amir Kassam is an adviser in sustainable agriculture intensification with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Rome, and Moderator of the FAO-hosted Global Platform for Conservation Agriculture Community of Practice (CA-CoP). He is a Visiting Professor in the School of Agriculture, Policy and Development, University of Reading, UK, where teaches a post-graduate course entitled ‘Rethinking Agricultural Development: Implementing Solutions’. In 2005, he was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Honours List for services to tropical agriculture and to rural development.
