March 10, 2014, New Delhi, India: Women’s day was celebrated in Hazrat Nizamuddin Basti with the entire project team of AKTC and AKF on 8-March.
On this occasion, an interaction between the Police and women from the Basti was organized, which addressed the need for women to learn self defence and also establish a link with the police.
The SHO of the Nizamuddin Basti Police Station visited and listened to security risks in the basti. The women spoke of their concerns related to drug menace and other security issues in their Basti, and requested for an increase in patrolling in the basti. The SHO gave assurance to improving situations and also informed them of the relevant laws.
