A newly launched website, “Umang” features a Wakhi language poem about the majestically beautiful Passu village, which has in the past been the victim of many natural disasters.
Written by Shahid Akhtar, the Wakhi language song eulogizes the people and the land of Passu, while also lamenting the great losses it had to face due to the outburst of a glacial lake in the Shimshal Valley. While lamenting the great losses, the poem also gives the message of hope and happiness.
