I’m working for The Aga Khan University – North America Office raising principal gifts to build a new university in Arusha, Tanzania.
The first Aga Khan University is in Karachi and my colleague and I were invited to visit and learn more AKU.
Members of the fundraising team in Karachi were eager to hear about our experiences (Ralph, my colleague, is a prospect researcher), what we knew and how we practiced fundraising in the US and Canada, so I was invited to give three half-day sessions: first an overview of fundraising, the second on building donor relationships using Raiser’s Edge, and third a review of their practices (“journey of the gift”) and how they are building their annual giving program, among other things.
Thanks for sharing. I had a great time visiting and learning about what motivates donors from different cultures.
