Mina Mawani became the Chief Development Officer of CivicAction in May 2013, leading the organization’s resource development and capacity-building strategies. An empathetic change facilitator in both her professional and volunteer life, Mina has a talent for building consensus on tough decisions, and uses her business background and strong financial and analytical skills to ensure that a compelling vision is backed by a solid business plan.
Mina brings to her role 15 years of experience helping non-profits, hospitals and government departments prepare for and navigate massive change – the kind of change that leaves organizations with improved capacity, strengthened strategic relationships, better funding models, and a clearer vision and strategy for the future. Prior to joining CivicAction, Mina was CEO of the Aga Khan Council for Canada, where she realigned program planning and funding models to build organizational capacity, oversaw a $15 million operating and capital budget, and contributed to planning for a new Ismaili Centre and Museum in Toronto. Mina has also held key roles at the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, KPMG, and PricewaterhouseCoopers, working with the largest hospitals in Ontario.
