Soccer balls can be hard to come by in Tanzania, especially for orphans and street kids.
That’s why Amyn Bhulji and his nephew Minoo Kanji are travelling to the East African country in August with plenty of soccer balls and other equipment to start their free camp.
“They’ll use [the soccer balls] until they’re torn,” says Kanji, who owns Lions Gate Fabricare Cleaners behind Capilano Mall.
He is a regular soccer player along with his uncle Bhulji, a director of the Ismaili Youth Soccer Camp, which partnered with the Innovative Communities Foundation to start the camp.
Called the Moshi Football Initiative, the soccer camp will be held in Moshi, a small town in the Kilimanjaro region.
