Power and Privilege in the Production of Knowledge

I had the privilege of participating in the CCGHR dialogue on the role of research in a Canadian vision for global health. I came away both inspired and conflicted. As a global health researchers, particularly someone from a high-income countries who conducts research in low and middle income countries, I encounter a number of ethical challenges. I will never forget the words of a women from Ecuador who told us that researchers from around the world come regularly to study her community.
