Scouts from the Glenview Ismaili Jamatkhana and Center participate in Annual Spring River Cleanup

Editor Journal: I am writing to thank the more than 80 engaged citizens who came out to help with our annual spring River Clean up Day on May 11. We had slightly cold weather, but lots of fun finding everything from old tires to freshwater mussel shells.

Students from Christian Heritage Association joined Scouts from the Ismaili Center as well as New Church members and many other citizens of all ages. We not only pulled trash from the river and riverbanks, but also cut buckthorn in Peninsula Park and put in more native plant plugs where they can thrive
