The growing impact of nurses in Kenya: The Awali Adventure — Day Three | Calgary HeraldBy Monica Zurowski: Some say nurses are like angels. They touch people’s lives in special ways; they’re giving and gracious; and they sometimes seem to know what patients need, even before those patients know it themselves. As I visit St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing, Kaloleni, I begin to understand the celestial comparison. I’m introduced to a group of nursing instructors who seem ready to move heaven and earth to ensure nurses in Kenya are better trained, thus being able to become agents of change and improve health in the country.
