Vancouver, British Columbia (April 4, 2013) – Innovative research by Selin Jessa, a Grade 12 student from Dr. Charles Best Secondary School in Coquitlam, has earned the top regional prize in the 20th Annual Sanofi BioGENEius Challenge Canada, a biotechnology research competition that encourages students to pursue future studies and careers in the field of life sciences.

Selin will travel to Ottawa and compete with secondary students from across Canada for the national prize, which will be awarded on Tuesday, April 9, at the headquarters of the National Research Council of Canada. The top two winners in the national competition will go on to the International BioGENEius Challenge, which will take place in Chicago on Monday, April 22.
