On March 12 and 13, 2012 the annual Spelling Bee 2013 contest took place at QSI International School of Bishkek. This year the students were split into four groups, according to their age-groups. On the morning of 12 March, the 9-11 year olds competed. TABREEK SOMANI won the competition after a very tough series of tie rounds. Tabreek was the second runner-up in 2012 (9-11 year olds) event and the winner of the 2011 event (6-8 year olds). Later during the day on 12 March, the competition for 7-8 year olds took place. FAIZAAN SOMANI won the competition after successfully completing and winning all the rounds after a tough contest. Faizaan was the runner-up in 2012 event (7-8 year olds).
