Today the Support Agency for Architecture Barcelona (AAAB) opens the Aga Khan Trust for Culture’s traveling exhibition on its Historic Cities Program. On view in the Catalonian capital until 27th February, videos, photographs and drawings of restoration projects in Cairo, Kabul, Djenné or Zanzibar – following parameters like social and environmental contexts, adaptation to new uses, institutional sustainability and the development of capacities – will acquaint us with the Aga Khan program, begun to 1991, of promoting the preservation and reuse of buildings and public spaces in historic cities of the Muslim world, always in a way geared to stimulate social, economic and cultural development.
