AKFC Seminar and Live Webcast: Tracing Health to Its Roots, Linking Early Childhood Development to Healthy Adulthood

Complications in childbirth, poor neonatal care, malnutrition or a lack of mental stimulation – all of these issues affect the health of many young children in the developing world. But research strongly indicates that these struggles can also have a broader effect on human development in the long term, linking early childhood experiences to health and achievement in adult life.

AKFC is pleased to welcome Dr. Stephen Lye, the inaugural Executive Director of the Fraser Mustard Institute for Human Development at the University of Toronto to speak to this important issue. Drawing on decades of rich experience and research, Dr. Lye will explore the roots of adult health in the early stages of life, making the case for targeted interventions that help children reach their full potential in adulthood.
