The 135th birth anniversary of Sir Sultan Mohammad Shah Agha Khan III is being observed on Friday. He was born on November 2‚ 1877 in Karachi.

The 48th hereditary Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims played a pivotal role in making the Pakistan movement a success by inculcating political awareness among Muslims of the sub-continent.

To safeguard interests of the Indian Muslims‚ Agha Khan led a long and successful campaign for a separate Muslim representation in the Indian legislature.

Under his leadership‚ Simla Deputation brought success and confidence for the Muslims of the subcontinent.

He was also chosen as spokesman for the muslim delegation to the round table conference where Allama Iqbal graciously spoke on services of the Agha Khan for Muslims.

Dr. Mohammad Iqbal on the occasion had said‚ “We have placed these demands before the conference under the guidance of Agha Khan whom we all admire and whom the Muslims of India love.”
