Almas Jiwani, President of UN Women Canada National Committee, offers her sincere congratulations to Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean on the unveiling of her official portrait to become part of the Crown Collection of the Official Residences. The official portrait of the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, was painted by Karen Bailey, an Ottawa artist.

Commenting from Istanbul, Turkey, Jiwani stated: “Her Excellency, The Right Honorable, Michaëlle Jean, has forged a lasting legacy for women and girls all across the world through her humanitarian and public service pursuits as the 27th Governor General of Canada. It is my distinct honor and privilege to congratulate Mme. Jean and Ms. Bailey, whose painting of Mme. Jean’s will grace the Official Residence of Rideau Hall.
