Mayor says Ismaili volunteer is an inspiration to him and to Canada!
South Stormont – ONTARIO: Mayor Brian McGillis of South Stormont says Ismaili volunteer is an inspiration to him, his community and Canada.
“Individuals like you provide inspiration for communities and people like me in volunteering and working towards making our society a better place to live,” the mayor said in a congratulatory letter to journalist Sultan Jessa, who is also a dedicated community volunteer.

He made the comments in a letter sent to Jessa, also a recipient of the Order of Canada, on receiving the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal from Canada’s Governor-General David Johnston at a ceremony in Ottawa.
“I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this honour,” Mayor McGillis said.
He said the prestigious Diamond Jubilee Medal demonstrates the contributions and achievements Jessa has made for the betterment of their community and the country.
This was the third Queen’s medal for Jessa, who has, in the past, also received the Silver and Golden Jubilee medals for significant achievements and remarkable community services.
