Ally Amin Hirji: recent graduate from Aga Khan Mzizima Secondary School, Dar es Salaam, TanzaniaAlly Amin Hirji is a recent graduate from Aga Khan Mzizima Secondary School, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Ally pursued the International Baccalaureate Diploma programme and achieved outstanding results. He was the only one who took up a high demanding course combination of higher level Physics, Chemistry and Biology in his school’s IB program. He also earned many leadership positions such as the Chairman of Model United Nations and took the role of an Ambassador in conferences such as the East African Model United Nations Conference at the UN headquarters in Nairobi. Ally is the school Volleyball Captain and sport’s coach for the younger students on campus and participates in many more other activities as such. He was nominated and received the International Leader of Tomorrow Award from University of British Columbia.

Ally was one of the 24 finalists worldwide who received International Leader of Tomorrow Award. He earned 100% tuition scholarship from UBC and was also awarded the Global Leader of Tomorrow award from York University. He has also received the Presidential scholarship from Waterloo University and merit scholarships from University of Alberta.

Ally has been accepted for Bachelor of Science in UBC and York University, and for Chemical Engineering in Waterloo and Alberta University. He was also accepted in Manipal University (India- Medicine), Drexel and Marquette University in the United States of America. Ally says that “all these would not have been possible without the support of my parents and my faith in our present living Imam. I am extremely proud of being an Ismaili and I hope that I have made my Ismaili community proud:”.

Ally intends to go to University of British Columbia for Bachelor of Science for major in Biochemistry.
