Millions raised to fight poverty in World Partnership Walk | 24 Hours VancouverBy TYLER ORTON, 24 HOURS, Travelling across Kenya and Mozambique earlier this month with the Aga Khan Foundation Canada, Katherine Boyes was stunned by what she saw.

It wasn’t East Africa’s extreme poverty that hit her — she fully expected that. Rather, she was amazed by the dedication communities had for improving their lives through development projects sponsored by the AKFC.

Right before setting off on a five-kilometre trek around Stanley Park for the foundation’s World Partnership Walk on Sunday, she recalled meeting with children who hiked two hours a day to classes crammed with 50 students.
