On March 15 and 16, 2012 the annual Spelling Bee contest took place at QSI International School of Bishkek. This year the students were split into four groups, according to their age-groups. On the morning of the 15th, the 7-8 year olds competed. FAIZAAN SOMANI earned second position after a very tough series of tie rounds. On the afternoon of the 15th, the competition for 9-11 year olds took place. TABREEK SOMANI secured third position after a very tough contest. Tabreek was also the winner of Spelling Bee contest 2011 (6-8 year olds).
