Pakistan: International Labour Organisation emphasises on gender equality

ISLAMABAD: Speakers at a seminar on ‘Gender Equality’ on Tuesday emphasised that collective efforts are needed for the promotion of gender equality in Pakistan.

The conference was organised by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).

Representative of Aga Khan University from Karachi, Amna Malik said that gender equality is necessary for a positive social change in society and upgrading the standard of living.

She urged implementation of those UN convention to which Pakistan is signatory.
