Brothers Farhad and Sajid Samji: Full-two entertainers

Brothers Farhad and Sajid Samji: Full-two entertainersBrothers Farhad-Sajid, the dialogue writers behind the goofy Ready and Golmaal 3

Their lines are known to cause a sense of being intellectually violated, but you can hardly dispute the filmi quotient of dialogue writers Farhad-Sajid.

Their dialogues get more ludicrous with every scene – for the multiplexers maybe, not for the layman.

As Ready rockets into the top five biggest-grossing Hindi films, the authors of its punch-lines reveal what gets them spinning the funnies.

At the outset, Sajid clarifies they are real brothers, referring to the striking contrast in their appearances.

“Agar yakeen nahi hota, toh maa-baap ko alag-alag se pooch lo,” he says. Towards the end of ’80s, the Mumbai-based Agakhani Ismaili Samji family moved to Bangalore.

Farhad’s knack for writing parodies and songs won him praise from family and friends.

In 1999, he got the Bollywood itch and elder brother Sajid egged him to return to Mumbai, suggesting they team up and write lyrics.
