The World Partnership Walk began as a small initiative 27 years ago in Vancouver, and has since emerged as an annual event full of life, laughter, hope and awareness. Raising money and awareness to fight global poverty, the World Partnership Walk is now held in ten cities across Canada each spring, and its results have significantly impacted people around the world.
A typical charity will raise funds for a village, send them supplies, and build water wells and schools. While these are noble efforts, the development approach taken by World Partnership Walk, an initiative of the Aga Khan Foundation Canada (AKFC), is much more reasonable and self-sustaining.
