It has been well-established that walking is good for you. It helps maintain a healthy weight, which in turn guards against diabetes and heart disease, while relieving stress and improving brain function.

But walking the walk this weekend will do more than boost your health. It will help lift people out of poverty.

The Aga Khan Foundation’s World Partnership Walk, which takes place Sunday at Lumbermen’s Arch in Stanley Park, raises money to support impoverished communities in the developing world.
