Fear, freedom, and a burned Quran | Eva SajooVANCOUVER, BC, Apr. 3, 2011/ Troy Media/ – The headlines are full of the news that a UN compound had been attacked in Mazar-i Sharif, Afghanistan. While the details of who may have directed this protest-turned lynching are still emerging, what is unambiguous is who provided the sense of outrage.

Terry Jones, a non-denominational Protestant pastor from Florida made headlines in September for his plans to publicly burn copies of the Quran. On March 20, he finally did. While this in no way justifies a murderous mob attack (if indeed this turns out to have been the real motivation), it does indicate something very disturbing.

  1. We live in a fast evolving era where our very surival depends on humans respecting and understanding for other humans and of embracing pluralism. Not on climate change and other natural disastors which I would are all argue are all man made, and avoidable

What is most disturbing is We have in the last 2 months over 10,000 humans being killed in Libya and over 25000 in Japan to name a few of the many. We need less talk and analysis and more expression of understanding, compassion and love for each other.
