Lawyer Tariq Remtulla wins Blakes Diversity Champion Award

On June 18, 2010, Tariq Remtulla, an Associate from the Intellectual Property Group, and Antonella Rizzello, a Legal Personnel Facilitator, were named the Blakes 2010 Diversity Champions.

Tariq Remtulla has been dedicated to promoting equity and diversity at Blakes and the broader legal profession throughout the course of his career and has served on the Blakes Equity & Diversity Committee since 2007. He is co-organizer of the Law In Action Within Schools (LAWS)/Blakes Mentoring Program, a high school mentoring program that partners Blakes lawyers with students from one of Toronto’s most diverse high schools, Central Technical School, and also sits on the LAWS Steering and Advisory Committee. Tariq works with several of the Firm’s pro bono clients and is a volunteer with Pro Bono Law Ontario’s Small Claims Duty Counsel project.
