For the past six years, faiths from the Abrahamic tradition have gathered together at Calgary’s City Hall as part of the Eid ul-Adha event — the Festival of Sacrifice celebrated each year by Muslims.
Last Monday, the tradition continued.
Mohamud Zaver, president of the Ismaili Muslim Council for the Prairies, says it is an important event for not only the Muslim community.
“Essentially we were celebrating Eid ul-Adha in the Muslim community, which is basically a celebration to mark the symbolic sacrifice of Abraham,” says Zaver.
