For the past week I have been in Khorog, a beautiful city located in southern Tajikistan. I’m going to write sooo much about this trip because it was one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had, but an introductory post to the background and history of the city/region is a necessary precursor so read through it because its actually really fascinating!!
Khorog is the capital of the independent oblast of Gorno-Badakshan (GBAO), which is a semi-autonomous region bordered by Xinjiang Province in China, Osh Province in Kyrgyzstan, and Badakshan Province in Afghanistan.
