Hi, I’m Neha Premjee, and I arrived at the University of Chicago from my home in India several weeks ago as an undergraduate freshman. UChicago is a wonderful institution, a community that crackles with intellectual energy. It is located in Hyde Park about 15 minutes from the downtown Chicago area. What makes the university unique is its emphasis on a broad-based liberal arts education for all undergraduates. Students are given opportunities to break down artificial subject barriers and study across a variety of disciplines, namely the humanities, social sciences, arts, physical and biological sciences, etc., in addition to courses they take for their major and electives.
