Congratulations to Faizel Sunderji ‘91 (Lake’s) for completing the Subaru Ironman Canada in Penticton, BC. Faizel completed the 3.8 km swim, 180 km bike and 42.2 km marathon in a time of 12:12:33.
The traditional course layout consists of a single loop 3.8 kilometre swim in the pristine waters of Lake Okanagan. The one-loop 180 kilometre bike course initially heads south towards Osoyoos, then north-west over the infamous Richter Pass on its way to Keremeos. Riders are greeted with more climbing before their return to town to start their run. The out-and-back 42 kilometre marathon heads south to Okanagan Falls, with significant portion of the course hugging the shoreline of Skaha Lake. Finishers are greeted by thousands of spectators lining the streets and finish line in town.
