Dr. Abdul H. Chagla – Public Health and Infection Control

Dr. Abdul H. ChaglaDr. Abdul Chagla has been appointed as Network Coordinator for South Western Ontario Infection Control Network.

He received his PhD from University of Wales, UK and carried out his post doctoral research at the National Institute of Health, USA and at the University of Toronto. After working for more than 20 years with the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, he has recently retired as Regional Manager for London and Windsor Public Health Laboratories. He taught Public Health Microbiology at University of Western Ontario and is certified as a Diplomat by the American Board of Medical Microbiology D(ABMM) and is a Fellow in Clinical Microbiology (FCCM) of the Canadian College of Microbiologists.

Dr. Chagla has numerous research publications and has won several awards including the Amethyst Award in recognition of outstanding achievements by Ontario Public Servants.

He is an active volunteer of London Ontario Jamat/institution and received 30 years Volunteer Service award from Government of Ontario for Community service. He has held numerous institutional positions including member for the Ismaili Council for UAE and Ismaili Council for Ontario.
