Aga Khan Foundation launches learning project

22nd November, 2009 – Aga Khan Foundation has launched a project to improve learning and influence teachers to deliver literacy and numeracy curriculum in 49 primary schools in Dokolo and Amolatar districts.

The project worth sh800m was launched by the commissioner for basic education, Daniel Nkaada, at Angwecibange Primary School in Dokolo.

The two-year project is focusing on the thematic curriculum in Primary One to Three and putting emphasis on the provision of reading materials, teacher preparedness and setting up a library.

Nkaada applauded Aga Khan for supporting the Ministry of Education and Sports on the thematic curriculum.
