The Aga Khan Foundation USA aims to raise money to fight global poverty Saturday with Partnership Walk, a day of live music, interactive exhibits, multicultural performances and a 30-minute fundraising walk through Hoover’s Veterans Park.
Visitors can tour VillageInAction, a series of exhibits detailing aspects of life in impoverished regions, such as agricultural practices in Bangladesh and health issues in Africa. There will be food, face painting, henna tattoos and performances that include Irish dancing, break dancing and Bhangra, a Punjabi folk dance.
This is the nonprofit’s third annual public event in Hoover but the first to include a walk. It’s part of a series of events occurring nationwide through the foundation’s PartnershipsinAction initiative. Admission is free.
