Farzana Kherani remembers the first time she made a difference in world poverty.
She was 11 years old, and after taking part in the World Partnership Walk fundraiser, she got a thank-you card filled with information about the poverty-fighting programs funded by the walk.
“My dad asked me if I knew what it was, and I said ‘this is what makes the difference,'” said Kherani, now 35.
It was that feeling that she wants her two sons, aged four and one, to feel when they take part in the walk in Stanley Park Sunday.

The Kherani family will be just one of many participating in the Tots & Tykes Challenge in the World Partnership Walk.
The walk raises funds for the Aga Khan Foundation, which runs development projects in impoverished countries around the globe.
