A group of students and scholars from the world-renowned Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) were in Doha on a week-long visit, on an invitation from real estate company Dohaland.
They attended a two-day seminar on the future of architecture in Qatar and visited Qatar Foundation, Souq Waqif, Museum of Islamic Art and other architectural projects.
Aga Khan Programme for Islamic Architecture at MIT and and Dohaland, a subsidiary of Qatar Foundation, jointly organised the seminar entitled “Complementary not contrary: From the local to the global in architecture”.
