University of Houston Women’s Studies & Friends of Women’s Studies presesnt the Living Archives Series: Houston’s Shia Ismaili Women: Education and Ethics.

Panelists include: Shaida Adatia, Program Officer, His Highness Aga Khan (pictured) Shia Imami Ismaili Council for USA; Dr. Fatima Mawji, Vice Chairman Focus Humanitarian Assistance USA; and Rishma Visram Mohamed, Secretary for Aga Khan Health Board, USA. The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Jill Carroll, Associate Professor of Religious Studies, Rice University.
Following the discussion, the panelists will answer questions from the audience. The Living Archives are videotaped and available for viewing at the Women’s ARC (Archive and Research Center) at the University of Houston. The Women’s ARC collects the papers of Houston area women’s organizations, such as the Houston Area Women’s Center (HAWC) and the Top Ladies of Distinction. The Women’s ARC also collects the papers of noteworthy individuals, such as Nikki Van Hightower, founder of HAWC; Debra Danburg, attorney and former state representative; and Carolyn Farb, fundraiser and author.
