Over 350 hikers participated in the San Francisco Partnership Trek on October 26. It is a public event that raises awareness and funds to alleviate global poverty and promote partnerships between America and
the developing world. Approximately $54,000 was raised at today’s charity event.
Partnership Trek took place at Crissy Field in San Francisco. Before the Trek began, Michael Wolfe, author, documentary filmmaker and journalist gave inspiring remarks to the crowd. Over 350 participants,
including teams from corporations, universities, schools and community organizations, hiked 5.5 miles across the Golden Gate Bridge to demonstrate their support for ending global poverty. At the staging
area, a photo gallery exhibit showcased the positive results achieved through the Aga Khan Foundation’s development programs. Trek participants had the opportunity to learn how people in developing
countries create innovative, practical solutions to overcome the challenges of low income, poor health conditions and limited educational opportunities through community organizing, microfinance and self-help programs
