Focus Humanitarian Assistance provides technical training to District Government Search and Rescue Team in Karachi
Karachi, Pakistan, 30 August 2008 – Focus Humanitarian Assistance Pakistan (FOCUS Pakistan) held an urban search and rescue orientation programme for the newly formed City District Government Karachi Team, under the government’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) strategy.
With over a decade’s experience, FOCUS Pakistan’s own search and rescue team (SART) is trained by teams of technical specialists from the United Kingdom, France and Switzerland. The FOCUS SART has responded to numerous local and national emergencies including the Kashmir earthquake in 2005. The team has also conducted training programmes for other emergency organizations.
